Digital Ecosystem
The aim of this activity is to develop a National Center for ICT Professional Development and a series of ‘soft centers’, or tech hubs for youth, entrepreneurs, and SMEs, in five zones of the country, to promote local innovation in the country.
Digital Platform and Services
This is activity builds up on an ongoing activity and will scale up the pilot projects for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), already started and managed by the TCRA, which currently covers 66 wards.
Digital Connectivity
This sub-component will support the connection to high-speed broadband of those MDAs, LGAs, and other government institutions that are currently unconnected, or have only slow-speed connections to the GovNet.

The Digital Tanzania Project (DTP) is a project being implemented by the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology (MICIT) in collaboration with the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance (PO-PSMGG).
The project also involves other stakeholders including the Ministry of Finance and Planning (MoFP); the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Governments (PO-RALG); e-Government Authority (e-GA); Information and Communication Technology Commission (ICTC); Tanzania Posts Cooperation (TPC); Universal Communications Service Access Fund (UCSAF); and the World Bank (WB).
The objective of the Project is to increase access to high quality internet services for government and citizens and to improve the government’s capacity to deliver digital public services. In this regard, the Project is geared towards accelerating the digital economy in Tanzania.
